Reform UK's Robert Jenrick has criticised professional services firms Deloitte and KPMG, alleging they laid off British staff while simultaneously hiring migrant workers. Speaking outside Deloitte's London headquarters in a video post, Mr Jenrick claimed Deloitte had laid off 800 UK staff but hired 8,800 foreign workers over the past five years.
Mr Jenrick, Reform's economic spokesman, also alleged that KPMG sponsored 1,100 visas and laid off 900 UK staff. KPMG had previously announced staff reductions, including over 400 in its audit department and 120 in advisory in March, around 200 in its UK group corporate services division in July, and another 200 in its data and tech division last month.
Deloitte has also offered voluntary redundancy packages this year, cutting 200 jobs in its audit business. According to UK Home Office data for 2025, Deloitte sponsored 1,647 workers on Skilled Worker visas, and KPMG sponsored 1,132 workers.
Reform UK officials stated their concern was for large employers to hire more Britons and highly skilled workers. Deloitte and KPMG declined to comment on Mr Jenrick's remarks.
