The first trailer for 'Forty Love', a new French queer tennis drama, has been released today, 16 October 2026, showcasing Romeo Beckham's acting debut. The film, directed by renowned fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, features Beckham alongside Paul Kircher, Guillaume Canet, Benjamin Voisin, and Catherine Deneuve.
Beckham, 24, plays a rival tennis player whose arrival in Paris destabilises Kircher's character, Sacha Gallo, a gay tennis superstar. The trailer offers glimpses of their intense relationship on the court and in nightclubs, with Beckham's character telling Sacha, "Sleep with your eyes open. I’m coming for you."
Notably, Beckham is the only actor in the film who does not speak French, with his scenes subtitled for French audiences. The trailer also includes a moment where Beckham's character appears to reference a viral Rafael Nadal quote when asked about Sacha.
Fans have reacted with intrigue to the trailer, drawing comparisons to the series 'Heated Rivalry' and the 2024 film 'Challengers'. This acting role marks the latest career change for Beckham, who has previously pursued careers in football and fashion modelling.
