Cristiano Ronaldo has been named in the first squad selected by new Portugal coach Jorge Jesus, putting an end to speculation that the 41-year-old might retire from international football. Ronaldo had not confirmed his future with the national team after Portugal's World Cup round-of-16 defeat in July.
The Al-Nassr forward is part of a 25-man group chosen for Portugal's four Nations League games, scheduled between 24 September and 4 October. Jesus took over from Roberto Martinez, who stepped down after Portugal's World Cup exit.
Jesus, 72, was Ronaldo's club boss last season at Al-Nassr, where they helped the team secure the Saudi Pro League title for the first time in seven years. Portugal will play Wales at home on 24 September, followed by an away game against Norway three days later. They will then face Denmark on 1 October and host Norway on 4 October.
