The Royal Mail has announced a new stamp series that celebrates some of the UK's most beautiful and iconic waterfalls. The Waterfalls Special Stamp Collection will go on sale from 23 June and features ten stunning waterfalls from across the country.
Becky Falls in Devon is one of the waterfalls included in the collection, and its owner, Paul Richards, has described the recognition as a 'proud moment' for everyone connected with the waterfall. The 70ft-high waterfall is located in a beautiful natural setting, with the Becka Brook running between giant granite boulders and down the Bovey valley.
The collection also features other notable waterfalls, including Rogie Falls in Scotland, Aysgarth Falls in North Yorkshire, and Pistyll Rhaeadr in Wales. Each of the featured waterfalls has its own unique characteristics and attracts visitors from all over the country.
David Gold, director of external affairs & policy at Royal Mail, said: 'The British Isles are rich in natural beauty, and these stamps highlight some of the UK's most striking waterfalls in all four nations.' He added that the collection showcases the 'richness of our natural environment, which has been shaped by water over thousands of years.'
The Waterfalls Special Stamp Collection is a celebration of the UK's natural beauty and its unique waterfalls. It is a must-have for anyone who loves the great outdoors and wants to commemorate these incredible natural wonders.
