British gymnast Ruby Evans, who rose to prominence after the Paris Olympics in 2024, is preparing for the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, this week. The 19-year-old, who has amassed 127,000 Instagram followers and nearly two million TikTok likes, is considered one of Britain's rising stars.
Evans, who secured a historic gold medal for Wales in the floor final at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, also earned a silver medal in the floor event at the 2025 World Championships. She and her team-mates finished fourth in the women's team final at the Paris Olympics, missing a medal by 0.2 points.
Despite the attention, Evans maintains her focus on improving as a gymnast. Her current training priority is developing a second vault with different entries, which she believes would enhance her chances for individual success at the LA 2028 Olympics. At the European Championships, the team's aim is a strong performance in Sunday's women's team final, which could aid their Olympic qualification efforts at October's World Championships.
