South Korea's Haeran Ryu has taken the lead at the AIG Women's Open, ending the second round seven under par at Royal Lytham & St Annes. The 25-year-old bounced back from a challenging start to her round, sinking five birdies to finish two under par for the day.
Ryu, who secured her second major title of the year at the Evian Championship earlier this month, is now aiming to achieve a historic third major win in a single calendar year. She holds a one-shot advantage over Japan's Shiho Kuwaki, who finished the day six under par.
England's Lottie Woad is positioned at two under par, despite a late stumble in her second round. Fellow English golfer Charley Hull also remains at two under par after an even-par round. World number one Nelly Korda, a four-time major champion, recovered from her opening round to finish one under par, keeping her in contention for a career Grand Slam.
Thailand's Jeeno Thitikul, who led after the first round, dropped to five under par after shooting a two-over-par 73. American Yealimi Noh joins Thitikul at five under par.
