The wait is finally over, folks! Sacha Baron Cohen has been cooking up a new Ali G movie, and it's been keeping under wraps until now. Sources close to the project confirm that filming is complete, with the highly anticipated film 'in the can' since at least 2023, according to recent reports.
Ali G, the infamous satirical character who stole our hearts back in 1998 on Channel 4's The 11 O’Clock Show, was more than just a TV sensation – it was a cultural phenomenon. This cheeky chappie made waves with his bewildering interviews, using slang that left public figures scratching their heads, and earning him a spot in the hearts of Brits everywhere. From its debut on The 11 O’Clock Show to a dedicated TV series, a feature film ('Ali G In Da House' in 2002), and even a cameo in Madonna's 'Music' video, Ali G was – and still is – an unstoppable force.
The details are scarce on the new movie, but we do know that Baron Cohen donned his trusty Ali G gear in Oxfordshire back in July and September of 2025. Rumour has it, our favourite East Stirling boy will be taking on America this time around. And as for a title? Nothing's been announced just yet – we'll have to keep those fingers crossed that the title lives up to the hype! As always, Baron Cohen is tight-lipped about his projects, but we can't help but feel this one's going to be HUGE.
The influence of Ali G on the world of comedy can't be overstated. From Borat and Bruno to Les Misérables and even the Marvel Cinematic Universe (he was set to play Mephisto, remember?), Sacha Baron Cohen has left an indelible mark on our screens. And who knows? This new film could just cement his legacy as a true master of satire.
