Sandbar, the startup responsible for the Stream private voice ring, has secured $36 million in total funding. This includes a recent Series A round that raised $23 million, with Adjacent and Kindred Ventures leading the investment.
The company is among a growing number of wearable technology firms focusing on capturing thoughts and ideas through voice. AI notetaking hardware, including credit-card-sized devices, pendants, pins, and transcribing earbuds, has seen increased adoption in recent years for summarising meetings and action items.
Mina Fahmi, Sandbar's co-founder and CEO, has discussed the challenges faced by previous voice hardware devices. He suggests that maintaining user control is crucial for the success of wearable technology.
