Savills has appointed two new directors to its London residential sales teams, while The Guild of Property Professionals has added a new member to its National Advisory Council.

  • Callum Hodgson and Matt Smith have joined Savills as directors in London.
  • Kate Taylor, director at Taylor & Co, has been appointed to The Guild of Property Professionals' National Advisory Council.
  • Homes for Students has appointed Helena Eaton as marketing director.

Savills has announced two senior appointments to its residential sales teams in London. Callum Hodgson has joined the Notting Hill office as a director, bringing over 20 years of experience primarily across north and central London. He will work alongside director Dan Martin in Notting Hill and with teams in Kensington, Mayfair, and Brook Green.

Matt Smith has also joined Savills as a director in its Islington office. With more than two decades in the London property market, his role will focus on family house sales in Barnsbury, Canonbury, and Highbury. Smith will be based at Savills' Upper Street office and will work within the firm's north and east London network, including teams in Hackney, Victoria Park, Clerkenwell, Shoreditch, Canary Wharf, and Wapping. Both new directors will also collaborate with other parts of the Savills business, such as new homes, Private Office, and Auctions teams.

Separately, The Guild of Property Professionals has appointed Kate Taylor, director at Taylor & Co, to its National Advisory Council (NAC). The NAC advises The Guild on strategy and gathers input from member agencies across the UK. Taylor brings over 25 years of property industry experience, covering residential sales, lettings, business management, marketing, and compliance. She launched Taylor & Co in Abergavenny in 2019, which operates across Monmouthshire and surrounding areas.

In the student accommodation sector, Homes for Students (HFS) has appointed Helena Eaton as marketing director. Eaton has over 20 years of experience in higher education marketing, having previously led brand transformation and strategic marketing projects at Wrexham University and served as head of marketing at Liverpool John Moores University. In her new role, she will lead HFS's marketing strategy, focusing on occupancy performance, brand development, digital innovation, and stakeholder engagement. Homes for Students operates over 60,000 beds in the purpose-built student accommodation sector.

Why this matters: These appointments reflect ongoing changes in leadership and strategy within the residential sales, professional advisory, and student accommodation sectors of the property industry.
