World number one Scottie Scheffler has clinched his second Fedex Cup title, triumphing at the PGA Tour's season-ending Tour Championship in Atlanta on Sunday. Scheffler, who started the final day three strokes behind overnight leader Viktor Hovland, delivered a consistent performance to secure the victory.
His 22nd career win comes with a substantial reward, as Scheffler's bank account will be credited with $10m (£7.4m). This achievement places him alongside golf legends Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy as a multiple winner of the event.
Scheffler's four-under 66 was the only round under par among the final three pairings. Hovland finished three strokes back in second place after a two-over 72, while American debutant Ryan Gerard secured third place on 12 under par.
Englishman Alex Fitzpatrick matched Scheffler's lowest round of the day with a 66, propelling him to a tie for fourth alongside Rory McIlroy and five others at 11 under. Justin Rose also made headlines with a hole-in-one on the ninth.
