Research into memory manipulation has seen scientists locate memories within the brains of rodents. These memories have then been artificially triggered and even removed.
Steve Ramirez, an associate professor of psychological and brain sciences at Boston University, whose book How to Change a Memory was shortlisted for this year’s Royal Society Trivedi science book prize, explained these developments. He also indicated that this science could one day have practical applications for humans.
