Mark Selby, Judd Trump, Mark Williams, Wu Yize and Barry Hawkins have all advanced from the first round of the English Open in Brentwood. All five players are ranked in the world's top 10.
World number two Mark Selby secured a 4-3 win against fellow Englishman Ricky Walden. Selby had trailed 3-2 but won the final frame with a break of 69, having earlier made breaks of 111 and 135.
Judd Trump defeated Northern Ireland's Jordan Brown 4-0, while Wales' Mark Williams beat Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon. Wu Yize overcame Yang Gao 4-1, and Barry Hawkins defeated Lyu Haotin 4-2.
In the second round, Selby is scheduled to play Zhang Anda, and Trump will face Ashley Carty. Mark Williams is set to compete against Matthew Selt, Wu Yize will play Xu Si, and Hawkins will face either Gary Wilson or Daniel Wells.
