Serie A forward Yael Trepy, 20, is currently in Santissima Annunziata Civil Hospital in Sassari, where he is under "pharmacological sedation" and on a ventilator. He was airlifted to the hospital on Sunday afternoon after losing consciousness in a swimming pool in Sardinia.
Cagliari, Trepy's club, released a statement on Tuesday indicating an improvement in his condition. He is now fever-free, and his respiratory function has improved compared to when he was admitted. Should his improvement continue, there are plans for a "gradual reduction in sedation."
Despite these positive developments, the hospital statement noted that "the prognosis remains guarded." Trepy was reportedly in the swimming pool with friends and is thought to have encountered difficulty in an area where he could not touch the bottom.
