Jasmin Graham, a shark scientist and science communicator, has provided insight into her daily activities in Sarasota, Florida. Her work involves preparing for shark surveys, which aim to understand local shark populations and assess their health and stability.

During these surveys, researchers target bonnethead sharks and also encounter stingrays. They measure the animals, take fin clips to study relationships, and collect muscle biopsies to examine toxin loads, particularly brevetoxin from red tide. Bonnethead sharks are also fitted with internal transmitters that can track their movements for up to three years before being released.

Beyond her scientific work, Graham is involved with Minorities in Shark Sciences, a nonprofit, and serves as co-chair of the Priorities, Projects, and Campaigns committee for the America the Beautiful for All Coalition. Her daily routine also includes aerialist training and social activities.
