Southampton residents can expect a thrilling, if unpredictable, mix of sunshine and showers next week, with strong winds set to make their presence felt. The Met Office has warned that Monday 28th July will kick off a week of changeable weather, characterised by bright spells giving way to cloudier periods and light rain.
The forecast is for temperatures to hover in the mid-teens to low twenties Celsius, but it's not just the rain that'll be making an impact - strong winds will be particularly noticeable along the coast, with gusts reaching up to 30-40 mph at times. Inland areas won't escape the breeze either, although it will feel less intense than by the sea.
While Southampton is in for a mixed bag, the wider UK picture is just as unsettled. Scotland and Northern Ireland can expect plenty of rain, while parts of southern England, including Southampton, will see sunshine giving way to showers. Wales is also predicted to experience a mix of both.
The Met Office advises those planning outdoor activities to stay vigilant and check local forecasts regularly - particularly for wind speeds and sudden showers. Although no severe weather warnings are currently in place for Southampton, it's clear that next week will be an unpredictable one.
