Spotify has announced a new series of 'Hometown' shows, bringing Jorja Smith, Nemzzz, and Beabadoobee back to the communities where they began their musical journeys. These one-night-only performances are scheduled for September.
Jorja Smith will kick off the series in Walsall on September 6. Nemzzz is set to play in Manchester on September 12, followed by Beabadoobee closing the run in London on September 17.
These intimate gigs are exclusively for selected 'top listeners' of each artist, with no public tickets available. However, Spotify plans to premiere concert films of the shows on its platform in the weeks following the performances.
The 'Hometown' series aligns with new album campaigns for the artists. Smith's third record, 'What Are The Odds', is due on August 21, while Nemzzz's 'Locked In' will be released on September 4. Beabadoobee's 'Pylon' is set for release on September 18.
Spotify also stated it will collaborate with the artists on community-led initiatives to support young people in their hometowns. Jorja Smith noted that Walsall is where her love of music began and continues to influence her creativity.
