Talks between the club and Richarlison's representatives are ongoing, with the matter understood to have escalated recently. While Richarlison is eager to reach an agreement that would allow him to leave for free, Spurs are not considering this a realistic option.
Adding to the complexity, Tottenham possesses a 12-month option to extend Richarlison's contract until the end of next season. The club is unwilling to negotiate a settlement over the remainder of his current deal.
Richarlison has been excluded from the club's Premier League squad following the collapse of his move to Everton. Tottenham were in line to earn £35m from the transfer, but the forward failed to agree personal terms with the Toffees.
