Tottenham and their Brazil forward Richarlison are currently in a dispute regarding the remaining nine months of his contract. The 29-year-old, who saw a deadline day move to Everton fall through, is reportedly exploring options to be released from his current deal.

Talks between the club and Richarlison's representatives are ongoing, with the matter understood to have escalated recently. While Richarlison is eager to reach an agreement that would allow him to leave for free, Spurs are not considering this a realistic option.

Adding to the complexity, Tottenham possesses a 12-month option to extend Richarlison's contract until the end of next season. The club is unwilling to negotiate a settlement over the remainder of his current deal.

Richarlison has been excluded from the club's Premier League squad following the collapse of his move to Everton. Tottenham were in line to earn £35m from the transfer, but the forward failed to agree personal terms with the Toffees. Brazilian side Vasco de Gama are reportedly keen to sign Richarlison, who is believed to be interested in returning to his homeland.
