A consortium spearheaded by former Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley is currently in talks to acquire a 25% stake in Championship side West Ham. The group, which includes Staveley's husband Mehrdad Ghodoussi, has shown a strong interest in purchasing Vanessa Gold's stake, with discussions progressing in recent weeks.
Staveley has reportedly secured global investment to facilitate the potential deal. Sources indicate that the consortium first explored investing in West Ham towards the end of last season, which concluded with the Hammers' relegation from the top flight. The group is also understood to be open to acquiring additional shares, potentially making them majority shareholders.
Currently, David Sullivan and Daniel Kretinsky are the major shareholders at the club. Sullivan stepped down as joint chairman in June following a joint investigation by BBC Panorama and The Times into his conduct.
