Steven 'Bonzo' Daniel, described as a high-profile gangland figure, was arrested at his home in the north of Glasgow during an early morning police raid on Wednesday. He is understood to be the head of the Daniel crime family.
The arrest was part of Operation Venetic, a major UK-wide operation aimed at dismantling organised crime gangs. Assistant Chief Constable Dave Ferry stated that those involved in serious and organised crime will be brought to justice.
A second man, Steven Gordon, was also arrested in a simultaneous operation. The Scottish arm of Operation Venetic has led to over 60 arrests since 2020, following the National Crime Agency's penetration of a secret communications system used by criminals.
