A review by the Northern Ireland Assembly into Jeffrey Donaldson's conduct during his time at Stormont has concluded, finding "no relevant information" requiring further investigation. No reports were received as part of the exercise, which was commissioned in July 2026.
The review followed Donaldson's conviction in June 2026 for 18 counts of sex abuse, including one count of rape, committed against two women when they were children. Donaldson was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from 2003 until 2010 and served as a junior minister.
The Northern Ireland Assembly stated the review was "necessarily limited" and "does not determine that no incidents occurred," but confirmed the process had "now concluded." An assembly spokesperson added that the absence of reports or relevant records means none were reported to the review and no relevant information was identified within its scope and methodology.
The assembly said any subsequent approaches would be handled under Assembly Commission policies and procedures, with urgent referral to the PSNI or another statutory agency where appropriate. This review was one of several launched after Donaldson's conviction, with the DUP, Northern Ireland Civil Service, and Ulster Unionist Party also commissioning their own processes.
