Two fires that destroyed 19 homes in Stourbridge were started accidentally, according to West Midlands Fire Service. Investigators determined that farming equipment was in use in fields immediately before the fires were reported.
The first fire began in a field near Racecourse Lane at approximately 13:27 BST on 13 August. A second fire started shortly afterwards in a field near Quarry Park Road.
Chief Fire Officer Simon Tuhill confirmed that both fires were not started deliberately, stating they were accidental. He acknowledged the significant impact, adding that many are still struggling with the scale of damage and personal loss.
