Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse has made lifestyle changes following a doctor's warning about her long-term health, including a risk of Type 2 diabetes.

  • Motsi Mabuse was warned about her long-term health after tests showed high cortisol levels, inflammation, and a risk of Type 2 diabetes.
  • She began with 10-minute daily walks, gradually progressing to longer walks and strength training sessions.
  • Mabuse will return as a judge for the 24th series of Strictly Come Dancing next month.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse has implemented significant lifestyle changes after receiving a health warning from her doctor. A full-body check-up revealed high cortisol levels, inflammation, and a potential risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.

Following this health update, the 45-year-old dancer sought advice from her sister, Phemelo. She began with short daily walks, starting at 10 minutes, and gradually increased the duration. These walks became a regular habit, and Mabuse later incorporated solo strength training sessions with her personal trainer, Dirk Berresheim, which include 60 minutes of incline walking.

Mabuse considers her improved walking fitness a major achievement over the past 18 months. She is set to return to screens next month for the 24th series of the BBC dancing competition, joining fellow judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, and Anton DuBeke.
