A supergroup named The Cretin Family, comprising members from Green Day, Blink-182, Rancid, and Ramones, performed an official 50th anniversary tribute show for the Ramones in Los Angeles. The performance took place last night, August 30, at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery.
The band was formed specifically for this event, bringing together Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, Rancid's Tim Armstrong, and former Ramones bassist CJ Ramone. Billie Joe Armstrong noted during the performance that it was his first time playing with Travis Barker.
The event celebrated 50 years since the 1976 release of Ramones' self-titled debut album. The show featured surprise appearances from Fred Armisen, Jason Freese, The Linda Lindas, and Billy Idol, who joined for several songs including 'Beat on the Brat' and 'Blitzkrieg Bop'. John Travolta introduced the entire set, and the event also included a double feature screening of the 50th anniversary deluxe edition of *Carrie* and Travolta’s new film *Propeller One-Way Night Coach*.
