Suppliers were encouraged to report issues related to the Groceries Supply Code of Practice (the Code) at the Groceries Code Adjudicator's (GCA) annual conference on 29 September 2026. The Adjudicator and designated retailers’ Code Compliance Officers (CCOs) stated that raising issues can resolve them and improve wider Code compliance.
Suppliers can raise concerns directly with retailers or the GCA. Safeguards are in place to protect confidentiality and ensure suppliers do not face negative consequences for reporting issues. Information on these safeguards and CCO contact details are available on the GCA website.
Discussions at the conference also covered how the Code and the GCA aim to ensure fair treatment for suppliers. Key areas of focus included delays in payments, forecasting, de-listing, and Consumer Price Index (CPI) negotiations. The Adjudicator's engagement with retailers on these specific issues was also highlighted.
