Swedish autonomous trucking company Einride has announced it will acquire UK logistics software startup Flipturn for $38.4 million (£29.8 million) in an all-stock transaction. The deal, confirmed on Wednesday, marks one of the larger exits for a British freight technology firm this year and highlights the growing strategic value of digital fleet management platforms.
Flipturn, founded in London in 2021, provides cloud-based software that helps logistics companies optimise routes, monitor vehicle performance, and reduce fuel consumption. Its platform integrates with both electric and diesel fleets, making it a natural fit for Einride, which is focused on electrifying heavy goods transport and deploying autonomous trucks across Europe and North America.
The acquisition is structured entirely in shares, meaning Flipturn’s investors and founders will hold equity in the combined entity. While the exact breakdown of the consideration was not disclosed, sources close to the deal indicated that the valuation reflects Flipturn’s recurring revenue base and its existing customer contracts with several large UK haulage firms.
Industry analysts say the move is part of a wider wave of consolidation in the logistics technology sector, as traditional operators and tech players race to build integrated platforms for the transition to zero-emission and autonomous freight. For UK investors and pension holders, the deal serves as a reminder that British tech startups remain attractive acquisition targets, though the stock-based structure means the ultimate payout depends on Einride’s future valuation.
Einride, which has raised over $500 million to date, currently operates in Sweden, Germany, and the United States. The company said the acquisition will accelerate its entry into the UK market, where it plans to launch autonomous electric truck trials later this year. The deal is expected to close within the next two months, subject to regulatory approvals.
