Students across England are receiving their A Level, T Level, and vocational results today. This year saw a substantial increase in T Level completions, with almost 20,000 students receiving results, up from nearly 12,000 in 2025. The pass rate for T Levels exceeded 90%.
A Level results showed stable improvement, with 78.1% achieving grades C and above, a 0.4 percentage point increase from 2025. The proportion of A or A* grades also rose to 28.3%, up 0.2 percentage points.
Maths A Level results were particularly strong, with the highest ever number of students receiving results, a 3.7% increase on 2025. More A and A* grades were awarded in maths, up 0.6 percentage points. There was also a 3.7% rise in students taking A Level subjects in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM).
More students were accepted onto higher education courses this year, an increase of 2% from 2025. Specifically, 194,800 English 18-year-olds were accepted into their first choice of university, up 1%.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham congratulated students, highlighting the success in T Levels and STEM subjects. Education Secretary Lucy Powell also praised students and teachers, noting the encouraging rise in T-Level results and progression to higher education.
