Tadej Pogacar Wins Stage Six of Vuelta a España, Extends Lead

Tadej Pogacar claimed victory in stage six of the Vuelta a España on Thursday, marking his third stage win of the race. The Slovenian rider outsprinted Enric Mas upon arrival in Castellón de la Plana, further extending his general classification lead.

Pogacar and Mas distinguished themselves on the gravel during the final climb of the stage. Despite a brief incident where Pogacar came off the road after misjudging a corner, he quickly recovered to maintain his position. Ramses Debruyne secured third place, finishing 46 seconds behind the leaders.

In the overall standings, Pogacar, who is a five-time Tour de France winner, now leads Movistar’s Mas by 3 minutes 34 seconds and his compatriot Primoz Roglic by 4 minutes 21 seconds. Earlier in the day, British rider Josh Tarling of Netcompany Ineos abandoned the race with around 120km left, with his team not providing a reason for his withdrawal.
