Pop star Taylor Swift has donated $50,000 (£37,000) to a GoFundMe page set up to support Ashley Taunton, a mother who was hit by a car while attempting to help another individual. The donation aims to assist Taunton, her husband, and their three children with daily expenses as she recovers from the accident.
According to the fundraising page, Taunton pulled over during a heavy rainstorm to offer help after witnessing a car accident. While she was assisting, another vehicle hydroplaned towards them. Taunton reportedly pushed a person out of the way before being struck herself.
Taunton is now facing a long recovery, having already undergone two major surgeries with more scheduled. Swift left a message on the GoFundMe page alongside her donation, stating: “Wishing you the best recovery possible and sending love to your family!” Taunton has since expressed her gratitude, describing herself as “sobbing with so much gratitude.”
