Teenager arrested after industrial estate fire in Weston-super-Mare

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a significant fire at Locking Farm Industrial Estate in Weston-super-Mare. The blaze, which Avon Fire and Rescue Service was called to at 03:03 BST on Tuesday, destroyed several businesses.

Avon and Somerset Police launched an investigation and determined the cause was likely deliberate. A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of an arson offence and remains in police custody.

Fire crews from 12 stations were at the scene for over 14 hours on Tuesday, with police assisting with road closures. The force stated it was fortunate no one was injured in the fire.
