The roads around Gorseinon in Swansea were met with tragedy on Thursday, 9 July 2026, when a collision between a car and an off-road bike resulted in the loss of life of 18-year-old Ceiran Evans. As investigations into the incident continue to progress at a rapid pace, South Wales Police have formally charged 18-year-old Tyler Ford, from Morriston, with murder.
Mr Ford is also facing a charge of attempted murder in relation to a second man, aged 19, who sustained serious injuries in the collision and remains under hospital care. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene on Pen Car Crwn Road at approximately 13:00 BST, and his family has been receiving support from specially trained officers as they come to terms with their loss.
While formal identification of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, police have revealed that four other individuals were arrested in connection with the incident. An 18-year-old man from Gorseinon was held on suspicion of murder and Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, while a 33-year-old man from the same area was arrested for suspicion of murder.
Two 38-year-old men, one from Gowerton and one from Mount Pleasant, were also taken into custody on suspicion of assisting an offender. These individuals have since been released on police bail, pending further investigation. Detective Chief Inspector Danielle Thorne has urged anyone with information relevant to the incident to come forward, reiterating that the case remains a high priority for South Wales Police.
As part of their appeal for witnesses and additional information, investigators have requested that members of the public refrain from sharing any social media footage related to the incident. This is in consideration of the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation and the potential distress it could cause to those involved.
