A teenage boy has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 61-year-old man in Dungannon, County Tyrone. The 16-year-old, who cannot be named due to his age, also faces charges of attempted murder of two other people and making threats to kill.
The deceased man was found at a house on Lisnahull Road on Saturday morning, alongside his injured eight-year-old daughter. The man's 48-year-old wife sustained non-life threatening injuries during the incident.
Appearing in Omagh court on Tuesday morning, the defendant was remanded in custody. His defence solicitor, Jarlath Faloon, raised concerns about the teenager's mental health, stating he had been examined by a mental health nurse over the weekend. District Judge Conor Heaney ordered a mental health assessment for the defendant.
