A teenager has been convicted of murder following the death of 16-year-old Joshua Ingram, who was fatally stabbed over an unpaid £20 cannabis debt. The attack occurred at Seaford railway station in East Sussex on 10 September 2025.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named due to his age, was found guilty by a jury at Hove Crown Court after two days of deliberations. He had previously admitted to an alternative charge of manslaughter, describing the incident as a "tragic and reckless moment".
The court heard that in June 2025, the teenager sent Snapchat messages to Joshua, including one stating "Josh will perish" if the debt was not paid. Joshua, from Newhaven, died after being stabbed twice.
Two other boys, aged 15 and 17, were also involved. The 15-year-old was found guilty of assisting an offender, a charge the 17-year-old had already admitted to. All three were found not guilty of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent.
