A 16-year-old boy has been found guilty of the murder of Joshua Ingram, who was fatally stabbed at Seaford railway station on 10 September 2025. Joshua, also 16, was stabbed on the platform at approximately 17:00 BST.
A jury at Hove Trial Centre heard that Joshua owed his attacker £20 for cannabis. The court was told the 16-year-old boy who stabbed Joshua liked to listen to drill music, which has violent lyrics.
Two other boys were also involved in the case. A 15-year-old boy was found guilty of assisting an offender, a charge which a 17-year-old boy had previously admitted. The 17-year-old told police he thought Snapchat messages from Joshua's killer, including one stating "Josh will perish" if he did not pay his debt, had been a joke.
All three boys are due to be sentenced in October. Det Ch Insp Paul Stanley, who led the British Transport Police investigation, suggested the defendants were influenced by social media, television, and each other.
Following Joshua's death, Crimestoppers launched its Fearless campaign in East Sussex, encouraging young people to anonymously report individuals carrying knives. The campaign reached 11,000 people on social media.
