Thames Water expects to restore water supplies to thousands of households in east London and Essex by Friday. This follows the completion of repairs to three burst mains that had left approximately 10,000 homes with low water pressure or no water.
The disruption began on Saturday with a burst water main on Daisy Road in South Woodford, followed by a second burst on Chigwell Road on Sunday. Repairs have now been completed on High Road, Daisy Road, and Chigwell Road.
Engineers are currently working to restore normal service by gradually increasing water pressure across the network. Thames Water has stated that recovery times may vary, with some households potentially regaining water sooner.
During the outage, residents reported queuing at bottled water stations. Thames Water confirmed it is continuing to support affected customers with bottled water deliveries for vulnerable residents and through bottled water stations, which were due to close at 21:00 BST on Thursday.
