The product, produced on the Cholmondeley estate in Cheshire, was described as wonderfully rich, unctuous, and creamy, featuring live cultures and large, firm curds. It has a protein content of 10%.
Asda's cottage cheese was highlighted as the 'best bargain', receiving a three-star rating. It was noted for its very creamy, extra-large, and super-soft curds, made with British milk and salt, and has a protein content of 9.1%.
Other highly rated products included Essential Waitrose natural cottage cheese and Co-op high protein cottage cheese, both receiving four stars. Co-op's product, along with Graham's the Family Dairy natural cottage cheese, shared the highest protein content among those tested, at 12%.
