Lucy Davis, best known for playing Dawn Tinsley in the BBC sitcom The Office, has revealed she has “incurable” breast cancer. The 53-year-old actress shared the diagnosis in an Instagram post, stating she was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer a year and a half ago, which has since metastasised to her spine, right hip, and ribs.

Davis, who is the daughter of comedian Jasper Carrott, explained that the cancer is incurable and too late for chemotherapy. She emphasised the importance of humour in her journey, asking friends and family to poke fun at her and not treat her like a “sick person.”

Despite her diagnosis, Davis intends to continue her work for animal rights, which she described as very important to her. She also expressed a desire to keep working as an actress, calling it one of the “biggest joys” of her life.
