The third round of The Open is underway at Royal Birkdale, with several top golfers including Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau gearing up for a tense and closely contested finish.
Friday saw some impressive scoring, with Australia's Lucas Herbert and the USA's Sam Burns both shooting 62s to surge into contention. However, DeChambeau's hopes of a strong finish were dealt a significant blow when he was hit with a two-stroke penalty for an incident on the fifth hole. The two-time major winner has confirmed that he will play the weekend, but admitted that he had been 'fired up' by the decision.
McIlroy, who is one of the favourites for the tournament, will be looking to capitalise on his position in the leaderboard. The Northern Irish golfer will be playing alongside several other top contenders, including Scottie Scheffler, Tommy Fleetwood and Jon Rahm.
The full tee times for the third round are as follows:
09:10 Jack McDonald (Sco), Russell Henley (US)
09:20 Min Woo Lee (Aus), Ryo Hisatsune (Jpn)
09:30 Jose Luis Ballester (Spa), Kazuki Higa (Jpn)
09:40 Marcus Plunkett (US), Naoyuki Kataoka (Jpn)
And so on...
The Open's third round is expected to be a closely contested and unpredictable affair, with several top golfers vying for the top spot.
