England manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed he will remain in his position until the Euro 2028 tournament, despite criticism of his in-game decisions and substitutions during the World Cup semi-finals.
Argentina's late goals from Enzo Fernandez and Lautaro Martinez saw the reigning champions beat England 2-1 in a thrilling semi-final match. England's Anthony Gordon had given his team the lead in the second half, but Argentina's relentless pressure paid off as they snatched victory in the 92nd minute.
Tuchel's decision to replace Gordon with defender Ezri Konsa in the 72nd minute was questioned by former England player Wayne Rooney, who felt the team became too passive and failed to counter Argentina's attacking play.
Tuchel, however, showed no regrets about his team's performance, stating that they had given everything and were 'very, very close' to winning the match.
Before the tournament, Tuchel had extended his contract through to the home Euros, which will be co-hosted by England, Wales, Scotland, and the Republic of Ireland.
