Three men charged after Sydney home invasions and alleged assaults

Three men have been charged following separate home invasions in Arncliffe and Bankstown, Sydney, where two women were allegedly assaulted.

  • Two women, aged 31 and 32, were taken to hospital with minor injuries after the incidents.
  • The alleged home invasions occurred on Tuesday and Thursday this week.
  • Three men, aged 18, 19, and 20, were arrested and charged with various offences.

Three men have been charged in connection with separate home invasions in Sydney's south-west, during which two women were allegedly assaulted.

New South Wales police were first called to a home in Arncliffe at approximately 12am on Tuesday. Officers were told a group of men forced entry, threatened a 31-year-old woman with a knife, allegedly sexually assaulted her, and stole money. The woman, who reportedly did not know the men, was taken to hospital with "minor injuries", police said.

Separately, police responded to a reported home invasion at a unit in Bankstown at about 12:30am on Thursday, 1 September. Three men allegedly forced entry, assaulted a 32-year-old woman, and stole money. This woman, who also reportedly did not know the men, was taken to hospital for treatment of "minor injuries".

Detectives, supported by the riot squad, raided three properties in Belmore, Punchbowl, and Greenacre on Thursday evening. A 20-year-old man was arrested in Belmore and charged with aggravated break and enter, depriving a person of their liberty, choking, common assault, and other offences. A 19-year-old man arrested in Punchbowl was charged with aggravated break and enter, choking, aggravated sexual assault, and other offences. An 18-year-old man arrested in Greenacre was charged with aggravated break and enter, choking, common assault, and other offences.
