At approximately 6:52 PM, emergency services were alerted to the blaze in New Zealand Way, prompting a massive response from the London Fire Brigade (LFB). Tragically, despite the best efforts of firefighters and paramedics, two men were pronounced dead at the scene, while the third succumbed to his injuries later in hospital.

Firefighters from 15 engines and over 100 personnel worked tirelessly to bring the inferno under control by 9:25 PM. Crews from North Kensington, Acton, Chiswick, and surrounding fire stations were mobilised to tackle the blaze. The scene was attended by paramedics who provided immediate treatment at the site.

Assistant Commissioner Pat Goulbourne of the LFB confirmed that the fire involved a single-storey pavilion, with more than half of the structure suffering damage.
