Wimbledon's drama quotient has just gone up several notches as the grass courts at the All England Lawn Tennis Club witnessed some of the most electrifying tennis on show yet. Felix Auger-Aliassime came from the very depths of despair to snatch a five-set thriller against Roberto Davidovich Fargis, triumphing 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (8-6), 6-3, 6-7 (7-2), 6-1 in a battle that lasted over five hours.
The crowd was completely hooked as Auger-Aliassime dug deep to overcome a dogged Davidovich Fargis, who had the whole stadium on its feet with his valiant fightback. The Canadian's sheer determination and never-say-die spirit won the day, despite facing a relentless barrage of shots from his opponent.
Meanwhile, Italian dynamo Jannik Sinner proved why he's still one to watch at Wimbledon, cruising past Francesco Passaro 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in an exhibition of skill and power that will give him renewed confidence for the next round.
But it wasn't all smooth sailing for the top seeds – world number one Iga Swiatek suffered a stunning upset, while Aryna Sabalenka battled back from the brink to keep her title hopes alive with a hard-fought victory.
