Tim Cook has been granted a $47m (£35m) pay deal as Apple's executive chair. This remuneration package is close to the level set for his successor as chief executive.
Mr Cook, who transferred leadership to John Ternus on Tuesday, will receive a base salary of $2m and shares valued at $45m. Half of this share award is contingent on performance targets being met, while the remaining half will be distributed over a four-year period.
John Ternus, the new CEO, is set to receive a base salary of $3m and a $55m share award, with a greater emphasis on performance for the latter. Mr Cook's total compensation as CEO for 2025 exceeded $74m.
Mr Cook's new responsibilities include engaging with global policymakers and maintaining Apple's relationship with Donald Trump.
