Arsenal's first-choice right-back, Jurrien Timber, has departed the Gunners' training camp in Spain and returned to London. This move is understood to be connected to a groin issue that previously sidelined him for the end of last season and the World Cup.
Despite missing two months with an ankle injury, Timber returned for the Champions League final loss to Paris St-Germain. However, the subsequent groin problem prevented his World Cup participation.
Sources insist Timber's return to London is part of his rehabilitation schedule and not a setback in his recovery. He is expected to rejoin the squad in Spain.
Timber, who played 30 Premier League games in Arsenal's title-winning campaign last season, joined the club from Ajax in July 2023 for an initial fee of £34m.
