Black Sabbath's legendary guitarist, Tony Iommi, has announced his new solo album, 'From The Dark', which will be his first in over two decades. The album is set to be released on October 23 through BMG.

This new record follows his 2001 release, 'Fused', and marks his first new music since the passing of Black Sabbath bandmate Ozzy Osbourne last July. Iommi is joined on the album by Norwegian vocalist Jorn Lande, who co-wrote all eight songs, along with Becky Baldwin on bass and Karl Brazil on drums.

The lead single, 'World Alone', premiered at a global streaming event in Iommi’s hometown of Birmingham, near the Black Sabbath Bridge. The single features Lande on vocals and is accompanied by a video set in a retrofuture, dystopian landscape. A limited edition 7” single of 'World Alone', including an instrumental version, will be available on September 4.

Iommi co-produced 'From The Dark' with Mike Exeter, his long-time creative partner. Speaking about the album, Iommi stated, "It’s an album we’ve really enjoyed making. We’re not trying to prove anything – it’s a great album, it rocks!"

The album explores themes of existential questioning and humanity, with tracks such as 'Stormwatcher' and 'Over The Sun'. Heaviest tracks include 'Return Of The Arbalist', 'Legacy', and 'Black Times'. Deluxe vinyl and CD formats will be available, with the deluxe CD featuring two bonus tracks, 'Scent Of Dark' and 'Deified'.
