Tottenham Hotspur's majority owners have committed an additional £120m to the club, pushing their total investment over the past year beyond £300m. The family of billionaire Joe Lewis, who control 70 per cent of ENIC Sports Inc, have provided the latest £120m injection.
This new funding brings their total investment in the north London club over the last 12 months to £320m. The fresh capital is reportedly for working capital and will involve the family purchasing new shares in the controlling company, ENIC Sports Inc.
Earlier this year, the Lewis family stated their commitment to investment, saying, "We are all in, we are investing in it. You will see more of this in the coming months." The club, currently 17th in the Premier League, made significant player acquisitions over the summer, including Sandro Tonali for over £90m, Mateus Fernandes for £85m, Savio for £75m, and Jan Paul van Hecke for £52m.
