Edinburgh have suffered their inaugural defeat of the season, falling to Toulon in their European Challenge Cup opener. The French side secured a 27-17 victory, with full-back Melvyn Jaminet delivering a standout performance.
Jaminet was instrumental for Toulon, scoring two tries and kicking two penalties, including one from his own half, to amass 22 points. His efforts helped establish an early 6-0 lead for the visitors.
Despite Edinburgh's efforts, including tries from Ewan Ashman and Geordie Gwynn, Toulon maintained their advantage. A powerful maul set up Seta Tuicuvu for a try, and another maul later paved the way for Jaminet's second score, effectively sealing the win.
