Train services across the UK are increasingly becoming venues for festive and often drunken celebrations, according to recent observations. Journeys from 9:04 am onwards are reportedly seeing passengers consuming alcohol, transforming ordinary commutes into lively events.

One recent journey to Liverpool, which involved five trains and took four hours due to overhead line problems at Crewe and crew shortages, highlighted the trend. Passengers were seen celebrating various occasions, including a 40th birthday party with mini-bottles of prosecco between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton.

Another incident involved a group heading to the Horse of the Year show, drinking Pimm's between Rugby and Birmingham New Street. A stag do was also observed between Stafford and Liverpool, with participants running through the carriage and yelling in a fake Scouse accent while dressed in a Brazilian flag.
