A 16-year-old boy who died after getting into difficulty in a lake in Lincoln has been remembered as a 'vibrant, energetic and unforgettable young man' by his parents.
Iretomiwa Abiodun Micheal, also known as Tomiwa, was rescued from Swanholme Lakes on 9 July but sadly died later in hospital.
Tomiwa's parents described him as a 'social butterfly' who made friends easily and always sought the good of others.
They said he was a 'protector' and 'constant source of encouragement' to his younger brothers, who adored him and were deeply affected by his loss.
Tomiwa's death is the second teenager to die at the lake in two months, following the death of 15-year-old Declan Sawyer on 24 May.
The City of Lincoln Council has announced that wardens will operate seven days a week at Swanholme Lakes to discourage swimming in the lakes.
Simon Walters, the council's director of communities and environment, said the wardens are not lifeguards, but will call the police if people fail to leave the water when asked.
