US President Donald Trump is currently meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a closed-door session. The New York Times is reporting that the meeting, which began at 9:30am ET on Tuesday, is not open to the media.
This encounter is anticipated to be more cordial than a meeting last year, where President Trump reportedly berated Mr Zelenskyy. The Trump administration has shown a shift in its posture towards Ukraine recently, with a friendly meeting between the two leaders at a Nato summit earlier this month.
Today's schedule for President Trump also includes a separate meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and attendance at the funeral service for Lindsey Graham.
