Donald Trump made over a thousand stock sales and purchases in July, with a total value ranging from $79m to $270m, according to a Guardian analysis of his latest financial disclosure, which was released on Tuesday.
His two largest sales on July 20 involved Amazon and Microsoft stock, each valued between $5m and $25m. On the same day, he also sold up to $5m worth of Oracle and Costco stock, and between $500,000 and $1m in Nvidia. Additionally, he purchased up to $5m worth of shares in Intuit and Salesforce.
Overall, Trump made more than 700 sales totalling between $35m and $137m, and over 440 purchases amounting to between $43.5m and $134m. Financial disclosures for presidents and vice-presidents are legally required and include a date and a range for transaction amounts.
The White House stated that Trump’s stock and bond portfolio is “independently managed by third-party financial institutions” and that the latest disclosure presented no conflicts of interest. White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said that all holdings are in discretionary accounts and invested through computer-based model portfolios that replicate recognised indexes.
